With over 2 million downloads Me Books quickly became one of the most popular digital reading experiences for young children and families anywhere in the world.
Me Books were essentially enhanced e-books with flip pages, audio from celebrities like David Jason and Richard E Grant, and “hotspot” points where readers can record their own voice into the story. Yes, it had interactive bells and whistles, but not distractingly so. We wanted to protect the experience of picture books, not detract from the story. We wanted to keep it simple in an age where there is an inherent paranoia if you haven’t made something interactive.
