The Neo Tokyo crypto community is a private, invite-only group in the Web3/crypto space founded by prominent crypto influencers Alex Becker and Elliotrades in late 2021. It's known for being one of the more exclusive and gamified crypto-native communities, designed to bring together serious builders, developers, investors, and thought leaders in the blockchain/gaming/metaverse space.
As part of their anniversary celebrations, Neo Tokyo organised a series of cryptic digital puzzles that needed to be solved in different ways. Each solved puzzle revealed a portion of a QR code, and successfully solving all the puzzles would mean the QR code could be scanned to reveal a secret location and prize.
For one of these puzzles, we worked with the Neo Tokyo team to create a mini game based on the retro classic Snake. The game, titled Consume, is at first glance a simple clone of the original, but a closer look reveals a cryptic message that unfolds as you play. This was a lot of fun to work on — serious Nokia flip phone flashbacks!
