Tagtiv8 has developed a unique and innovative product that uses tag rugby tags adorned with letters and numbers to create a huge variety of active learning games for nurseries and primary schools. We have a huge amount of love and respect for founder Bryn Llewellyn given our involvement in the active learning space through our own pet project, Moki. So when Bryn approached us to see if we'd be interested in helping him re-design their website, we were over the moon.
The existing Tagtiv8 website was built with WordPress and had been in service for 7 years, so it was starting to show its age, both in terms of functionality and design. WordPress is a hugely popular and powerful technology for building websites, but anyone who has used it knows how challenging it can be to keep up to date and functioning well over time. We decided it would be best to move the website over to the Shopify platform, chiefly because it is much easier to maintain and core e-commerce features are far less reliant on third-party apps.
In terms of design, we took huge cues from the Tagtiv8 logo, a big bright and multicolored expression of playfulness and fun, opting for a design scheme that mimicked the same excitement and vibrant charm. The logo, along with a set of brand ambassador cartoon characters, had already been created by the very talented Buzz over at the Night Zookeeper, so we were very keen that the overall design could let them shine.
We designed and developed the custom Shopify theme, plugins, and integrations necessary for the project, which you can check out at the link below.
